Case Study: Browns Fish & Chips

Belfast-based Brown’s has been selling traditional fish and chips as well as freshly made burgers, pizzas and baguettes for almost 15 years. The award winning business partnered with Just Eat over eight years ago to support them as they expanded their customer base online.

“I always wanted to run my own business, there’s something special about opening up the shutters on a Monday knowing that the whole place is yours. We’ve built up a reputation not only of offering the very best fish and chips but of being part of and supporting our local community.

“We do what we can to get involved with local causes – from sponsoring local football teams and charities to delivering hot food to pensioners in need, I couldn’t have done it without a loyal team around me who have stuck by me since the very start.” says owner Gavin Brown.

Brown’s fish and chips continues to expand across Belfast and Northern Ireland with a mobile fish and chip van which is now available to hire for parties, corporate events, sporting events and much more. Just Eat customers make up a large percentage of online customers and Brown highly rates the partnership they have with the platform, which has allowed his business to continue to grow, including extending their reach on Just Eat to deliver to even more hungry customers.

“Just Eat has been a great partner supporting Brown’s for over eight years now. The best thing about being on Just Eat is being able to reach completely new customers via the platform – customers that we would never have been able to access on our own. They’ve played a crucial role in building our reputation as an award winning fish and chip shop,” says Gavin.
