Case Study: Turknaz Restaurant

The award-winning Turknaz Restaurant is situated on the seafront of Whitley Bay. Serving authentic Turkish cuisine cooked by Turkish chefs, the restaurant offers a taste of Turkey in the heart of the North East coastal town.

“I opened my own Turkish restaurant over eight years ago now, offering a wide range of cold and hot mezze as well as a variety of barbecue and seafood dishes cooked all over charcoal. As a team, we’ve always prided ourselves on offering high quality, locally sourced meat, and this is why our best selling dishes continue to be mixed grills, lamb chops and chicken shish,” says the owner, Anthony Yilmaz. 

Yilmaz grew up within a business-orientated family and therefore decided to join Just Eat three years ago to tap into a new online customer base. This helped support the growth of his business, transforming Turknaz into a takeaway delivery business and unique oceanfront dining experience.

The rise in customers over the years has allowed Yilmaz to expand the business even further by opening another restaurant called Pizza Naz offering Pizza’s, wraps and kebabs.
